The warm-up match between Maharashtra and Mumbai is underway and the first day was dominated by the Maharashtra batsmen. Prithvi started playing first-class cricket for Mumbai in 2016-17 and then played for India's Test team the following year. However, he had to be ruled out of the team due to injury.
He performed strongly in domestic cricket, but remained in the news due to fitness and misconduct. He was dropped by Mumbai last season and then decided to leave Mumbai and play for Maharashtra. In today's match against Mumbai, he hit 181 runs off 140 balls, hitting 21 fours and 3 sixes.

Meanwhile, Arshin Kulkarni scored 186 runs off 139 balls and shared an opening partnership of 305 runs with Kelly and Prithvi Shaw. Maharashtra crossed the 450-run mark on the first day.
