ICC T20 World Cup 2022

The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 has one of the best scripts. The tournament is a true example of a roller-coaster ride. It is a tournament filled with upsets, with many teams falling short at the very end. We saw the West Indies fail to qualify for the Super 12 stage. We saw Ireland beat England; we saw Zimbabwe beat Pakistan. We also saw India lose to South Africa. It was all concluded with South Africa losing to the Netherlands and Pakistan entering the semi-finals. Here is a look at all four teams that have managed to enter the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022:

New Zealand has qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Semi-Finals:

The dark horse of every ICC tournament, New Zealand has qualified as the table toppers from Group 1. They defeated Australia in a thumping fashion in their first game and this set the tone for the ICC T20 World Cup. The team is working as a unit to ensure that they get through. Glenn Phillips has finally hit the potential he always had and converted it into performance. He is batting like never before. Kane Williamson has also got into form at the right time. Finn Allen has managed to implement the “Bazzball” very well and hence New Zealand is all-in-all a deadly squad.

England has qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Semi-Finals:

The team that has qualified as the runners-up of Group 1 in England. The Brits have played out of their skin to get to this position. Australia, the hosts, and defending champions also ended with 7 points but the Englishmen qualified because they had a better NRR. England hasn’t played to their true potential. Players like Liam Livingstone and Alex Hales are yet to hit their peak form. But it is a team of match-winners and this is precisely what sets them apart.

India has qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Semi-Finals:

The Indian cricket team has also successfully qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals. Rohit Sharma’s men will be keen on breaking the semi-final jinx this time around. Since the 2013 ICC Champions trophy victory, India hasn’t won any major ICC trophies and this is one great opportunity to end the drought. The Indian bowling has clicked at the right moment. Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are bowling in the right areas. The batting department also looks sorted with KL Rahul back in solid form. SKY and Virat are taking care of the middle order.

Pakistan has qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Semi-Finals:

The most vulnerable team that still managed to qualify for the semi-finals happens to be Pakistan. The men in green are very lucky that they have been given this opportunity. They need to be very thankful to the Dutch which I assume they already are! Pakistan will be keen to prove that they haven’t managed to reach the semi-finals by luck but by sheer cricketing prowess. The players to watch out for include Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Babar, and Rizwan. Asif and Haider are players with immense potential.
