ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Qualifier: Ireland announced their Squad

ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Qualifier: Ireland announced a 15-members squad for Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifier in Zimbabwe, scheduled from June 18th to July 9th 2023.

The Ireland cricket board announced a best 15 members squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifiers. On May 23rd, ICC released the schedule of World Cup Qualifiers, which will start from 18th June in Zimbabwe. As per the schedule, Ireland will play their first match against Oman on June 19th at Bulawayo Athletic Club Sports Grounds.

Andrew Balbirine will lead Ireland’s strong side in the upcoming CWC Qualifiers in Zimbabwe, which is scheduled for June 18th. Ireland includes several fast bowlers in their Squad. Mark Adir, Craig Young, Joshua Little, Barry McCarthy, Graham Hume and Curtis Campher are the pace options of Ireland for CWC Qualifiers.

The condition of Zimbabwe favours spinners; they opted for Ben White as a spinner in CWC Qualifier. Finno Hand and Stephen Doheny are going to miss the CWC Qualifiers. They are not added to the Squad due to poor performances since last year. Both have been struggling with Injury for a long time which stops their selection in the Squad. 

Ireland added some experienced players in their Squad

Ireland expects to secure their spot in two top positions on CWC Qualifiers 2023. The Ireland cricket board prepared a mixed team of experienced and young players. Ireland added experienced players like Barry McCarthy and PJ Moor to their Squad to increase their chances of World Cup 2023 Qualification.

Ben White was added to the ODI squad of Ireland team for the first time. Young leg spinner Ben White is added to the Squad to provide spin options to their team. Ben White debuted in international cricket against Bangladesh in a test series last month in Bangladesh. His performance was outstanding in the test series.
