Kapil Dev expresses his tough love for recovering Rishabh Pant.

“I want to slap Rishabh; Kapil Dev”: As Team India prepares to battle Australia in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, former Indian skipper Kapil Dev has expressed his uncompromising love for injured wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant. Although the BCCI has not specified a timeline for his recovery, Pant is likely to be sidelined for at least six months as it would take him some time to get back to match fitness.

The aggressive left-handed batter, who was hurt severely in a car accident in December 2022, is not featured in the upcoming series because he is still recovering from his injuries. He was admitted to Dehradun’s Max Hospital. Pant later had knee surgery in Mumbai and is now healing from many injuries.
