The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 is getting intense, and the teams are now competing for their spot in the semi-finals. The India Women’s Cricket Team is still in the race, but their path to the top 4 is not going to be easy, as they lost the crucial match against England Women by 4 runs. However, fans are wondering, can India still qualify for the semi-finals? Let’s have a detailed look at India Women's Qualification Scenario.

Currently, the India Women have had a decent performance in the tournament; they won two back-to-back games at the start but lost the last three consecutive matches. As of now, India Women are at 4th spot in the Women’s World Cup 2025 Points Table with 4 points and a net run rate of +0.526.

The top four teams from the group stage will qualify for the semi-finals, and with only a few matches left, India Women are still in the race with New Zealand Women. Both teams are on the same page; they have 4 points and played 5 matches. The only difference is their Net Run Rate (NRR), India has -0.526 and New Zealand Women have -0.245.

But the interesting part is India Women and New Zealand Women are going to play against each other on October 23, 2025, at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, which is going to be the deciding match for the 4th semi-finalist.

India Women Qualification Scenario:

Scenario 1: India wins both matches

If India manages to win their remaining matches against New Zealand and Bangladesh, they will finish the group stage with 8 points. This will guarantee India Women's last spot in the semi-finals, irrespective of Other results or net run rate.

Simply, India Women need to win two matches to get automatic qualification for the semi-finals. New Zealand Women are the ones who are competing, but if they lose to India, then they will not be able to get 8 points, hence India Women qualified.

Scenario 2: India loses to New Zealand but beats Bangladesh

If India loses their next match against New Zealand, it will have four points, whereas New Zealand will have six points. For India Women to still qualify, they would need:

1. New Zealand is to lose its last group stage match against England.

2. India beat Bangladesh with a decent margin to have a better NRR.

If this happens, India Women will have six points and a better NRR than New Zealand , who also have six points, but their NRR will be lower, so India Women can get a ticket for the semi-finals.

Scenario 3: India beat New Zealand but lose to Bangladesh

If India Women beat New Zealand but lose their final match against Bangladesh, then things will get a little complicated, but still in favor of India because of a higher NRR. Their qualification would depend on:

1. New Zealand defeating England in their final game.

2. The Team with the better net run rate (India or New Zealand) will secure the fourth semifinal spot.

India Women currently have better NRR, so even one win with a decent margin might be enough to get the ticket for the semi-final, but provided that they don’t lose heavily to another game.
