Mumbai Indians batter Rohit Sharma was at his best in the game against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The game between the two teams took place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (7th April).

The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai saw the Rohit Sharma masterclass as the opening batter oozed his class and played a magical innings. The senior batter came out with all guns blazing and made sure that he took the game away from the opposition in the powerplay itself. 

Rohit Sharma came all guns blazing and took an attack on the Delhi capital bowlers right from the start. The opening batter played some magnificent shots in his innings and put Delhi bowlers under immense pressure from the ball 1.

Rohit Sharma took his team off the flying start and along with Ishan Kishan (42) added 80 runs for the opening partnership. The former Mumbai Indians skipper didn’t put a foot wrong in his innings till the time he was batting and made sure he punished every single bowler he faced. 

Rohit Sharma ended with an innings of 42 runs off just 27 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 181 and also hit six boundaries and three sixes in his innings. His knock at the top set the platform for finishers as Mumbai Indians posted a big total of 234 runs.

After his 49-run knock against Delhi Capitals, Rohit Sharma shattered massive records. He became the first cricketer in the history of the game to be part of 250 wins in T20. Apart from this he also completed 1000 runs in the IPL against Delhi Capitals along with becoming the player with the most sixes against a single opponent in the IPL.

On the fielding front, Rohit Sharma also completed 100 catches in the history of the IPL. It was a magnificent game for the Indian skipper as later in the day he was also given the dressing room man of the match by the Mumbai Indians team management.
