Harmanpreet Kaur to Retire after ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025? Massive hint on the captain’s retirement takes the internet by storm
The Indian Women’s Cricket Team are all set to cross swords with South Africa women in the final of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The match will be played at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on November 2.
The focus will be on the Indian women’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur. The right-hander has been great as a batter as well leader in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. Her role will be extremely important in the final as the team eyes their first title in history.
Harmanpreet Kaur has been exceptional in the last few ICC knockouts. In the semi-final against Australia as well, she was sensational, scoring 89 runs at a crucial time when the team was under pressure. It’s fair to say that the pressure brings the best out of her and she would be keen to make another impact.
But there have been wide speculations about her future as well. Things got even more intense when former Indian cricketer Anjum Chopra shared a massive update on the future of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team.
100% she’s thinking about it. Every player knows where they stand at the moment - Anjum Chopra on Harmanpreet Kaur's retirement
In an exclusive interview with InsideSports, Anjum Chopra said that Harmanpreet Kaur is thinking about retirement.
“100% she’s thinking about it. Every player knows where they stand at the moment. I won’t say it’s the most important discussion within the dressing room or the thought process within her,” she said.
Harmanpreet Kaur, if thinking about retirement, would be keen to take India to glory and end the long wait for a title. It remains to be seen how India fares in the tournament.
