Fans lashes out at Sunil Gavaskar for disrespectful comments on Shimron Hetmyer’s wife

Fans lashes out at Sunil Gavaskar for disrespectful comments on Shimron Hetmyer’s wife: Former Indian cricketer and renowned commentator Sunil Gavaskar has once again found himself amidst controversy following his distasteful remarks on Shimron Hetmyer’s wife during Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings match, last night. Gavaskar tried to be cheeky while Shimron Hetmyer entered the batting ring, however, his remarks didn’t go well with the netizens.

Notably, Shimron Hetmyer exited RR bio-bubble a few days ago as he went to attend the birth of his child. But the dashing finisher returned back to complete his IPL duties.

Hetmyer returned to the Rajasthan lineup straight away after completing his quarantine and entered the bull ring when the equation was balanced for both CSK and RR. Rajasthan required 47 off 31 balls when Shimron Hetmyer came down to bat.

Sunil Gavaskar noted the moment and tried to be cheeky with his commentary. Gavaskar said, “Hetmyer’s wife delivered; will Hetmyer deliver for the Royals now?”

The unpleasant remarks didn’t go well with the netizens who lashed out at the commentator for making such statements. In fact, several demanded a ban on him for continuously making poor comments about cricketers’ wives.

Notably, this is not the first time Gavaskar has been criticised for his off-putting remarks. The senior commentator had earlier left controversial comments on Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma.
