Dream11 Exit: Apollo Tyres Steps In as India’s Main Jersey Sponsor

The Indian National Cricket Team is ready to get a new look as the new main jersey sponsor is almost confirmed. After the exit of Dream11, a tyre giant stepped in.

Apollo Tyres is going to be the new jersey sponsor of the Indian National Cricket Team after the exit of fantasy sports platform Dream11 due to the new goovernment regulations. This sponsorship deal will run until 2027, which is going to cover around 130 International Matches that include T20I, Test, and ODI cricket.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced this sponsorship after a strict bidding process held on September 16, 2025. The Indian cricket board has made it clear beforehand that brands related to gaming, betting, cryptocurrencies, tobacco, athleisure, sportswear, banks, finance, non-alcoholic beverages, and certain other industries were not eligible to bid.

There were some big names who were interested in the bidding. Canva and JK Tyre, along with Apollo Tyres, participated in the bidding however Birla Optus Paint showed their interest but didn't participate in the bidding process.

The new deal with Apollo Tyres makes them the official jersey sponsor of the Indian Cricket team until 2027. Apollo Tyres will pay approximately Rs 4.5 crores per game, which is a significant increase from the previous sponsor, Dream11, which was paying Rs 4 crore per match.

The deal covers around 130 matches across formats until 2027. Apollo Tyres is not new to sports sponsorship; the company has already partnered with big football clubs like Manchester United, Crystal Palace, and many others.

Why is Dream11 exited?

Dream11, a well known fantasy sports platform which became the lead sponsor of the Indian National Cricket Team in July 2023 and had signed a deal unitl March 2026. However, they decided to end the partnership early after the Indian government passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025.

As a result of Dream11 opting out of the lead sponsor, the Indian National Cricket team played the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi without a jersey sponsor.

Overall, this deal is a win-win for both the BCCI and Apollo Tyres as the Indian team got a strong jersey sponsor ahead of crucial events like the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
