Deepak Chahar ruled out of T20WC: India’s hopes of achieving their objectives in the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia have taken another serious blow. The list of injured players has seen a recent addition in form of pace bowler Deepak Chahar who shall no more be a part of the team’s squad for the T20 World Cup and has been ruled out of the tournament. Shardul Thakur is going to be the replacement for Deepak in the reserves in all probabilities.

With several prominent players already sitting out with injuries, things have only worsened for the Indian team with Deepak Chahar being ruled out of the upcoming significant event as well. Chahar was earlier deemed to be the most perfect replacement for Jasprit Bumrah who was ruled out of the tournament with a back injury. Now that Deepak Chahar too is going to miss the trip to Australia, India has lost the chance of availing the benefits of another formidable bowling option in the upcoming major tournament in Australia

Mohammed Shami shall now be the replacement for injured Jasprit Bumrah and will be one of the major parts of the bowling department that shall make up the team’s bowling unit. Shardul Thakur who is going to be the replacement for Deepak Chahar shall make it into the reserves and might get a chance to feature in the playing XI in case of any further injuries to players in the squad.

Deepak Chahar has been a highly significant player for the team in T20Is in particular. His brilliant spells of bowling with the new ball and also quality bowling in the death have been remarkably good at times. His bowling figures of 6/7 against Bangladesh are the best bowling figures by any bowler in the history of T20Is.

The pacer has 29 wickets in 24 T20Is so far. The 31-year-old is also a handy batsman for his side since he has the ability to tonk the ball to long distances and provides good finishing touches while batting in the lower middle order. His absence will surely be a major concern for the Indian team in the T20 World Cup.
