CSK IPL 2026 Retentions: Complete List of Players Retained & Released by CSK with Salary Breakdown

Ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have released nine players, including Matheesha Pathirana and Rachin Ravindra, while retaining 16 players, including foreign recruits Dewald Brevis, Jamie Overton, Noor Ahmed, and Nathan Ellis. CSK also traded Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to Rajasthan Royals, with Sanju Samson replacing them. With Rs 43.7 crore remaining, CSK can bid for up to nine players, including at least four foreign players. After a disappointing IPL 2025 season, where they finished last with just four wins, CSK aims to strengthen their squad.

Ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, five-time champions Chennai Super Kings have released a total of nine players and retained 16. CSK also retained four foreign players in Dewald Brevis, Jamie Overton, Noor Ahmed, and Nathan Ellis. The most surprising news is that the Chennai-based team have released Matheesha Pathirana and Rachin Ravindra.

CSK had already traded two all-rounders, Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran, to Rajasthan Royals. Sanju Samson has taken their place at Chennai Super Kings. Chennai Super Kings currently has 16 players in its squad and will look to fill the remaining nine slots at the auction.

CSK has Rs 43.7 crore left in its purse

The Chennai Super Kings squad now has 16 players. CSK will be able to bid on a maximum of nine players in the auction, with a purse of 43.7 crore  Indian rupees remaining in their purse. It's worth noting that four of the remaining nine players must be foreigners.

Chennai Super Kings had a disappointing performance in IPL 2025. The team managed only four wins out of 14 matches throughout the season and finished at the bottom of the table.
