Clouds are hovering over the Champions over the schedule of Champions Trophy 2025, which will be played for the first time since 2017. The ICC tournament is so far slated to take place in Pakistan but things look bleak and as per the reports it is learned that the tournament will move out from the Asian country.

The political tensions between India and Pakistan are one of the prime reasons why Champions Trophy 2025 is set to move out of Pakistan. The BCCI is not keen to send the Indian team to Pakistan, which might hamper ICC earnings and therefore tournament is likely to move out.

A similar thing happened during the Asia Cup 2023 as well. The tournament was slated to take place in Pakistan but BCCI didn’t send the Indian team. It led to a lot of controversies but ultimately the tournament was played in a hybrid model. Pakistan hosted 4 games whereas rest of the games were played in Sri Lanka

The reports have suggested that Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in UAE and Pakistan will continue to be the host.  There are also chances that the tournament might be played in the hybrid model with India matches taking place in UAE.

The upcoming edition of the Champions Trophy will be the 9th edition of the tournament. The tournament was ended by ICC however, it’ll for the first then the event will be played after 8 long years.
