Know Details: A few days ago, it was just India-India chants amongst the fans as the Men in Blue registered two consecutive victories to kickstart their Asia Cup 2022 campaign. However, no one had ever thought that the table would flip so easily that India will have to be at mercy of other teams for their final qualification.
Following two consecutive wins against Pakistan and Hong Kong, Rohit Sharma-led team India incurred two final over losses against Pakistan and Sri Lanka to diminish their further qualification chances.
In both the Super 4 matches against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the game boiled down to the final over and India couldn?t hold onto even one. Despite two losses on the trot, India still has a chance to make it to the finals of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, however, it seems a distant dream now.

India?s qualification now is entirely dependent on the other team?s result and the added permutation combination of the Net Run Rate. While India needs to win its remaining fixture against Afghanistan, it also requires other teams to bring out results that will aid India in going forward.
Pakistan vs Afghanistan Match:
Afghanistan will have to defeat Pakistan in today?s fixture so that India continues to be in the hunt for the Asia Cup 2022 final. If somehow, Afghanistan manages to overcome the Pakistani challenge, India will escape the knockout. However, if Pakistan registers a victory here, the tournament will be done and dusted for the Indians.
India vs Afghanistan Match:
After hoping Afghanistan defeats Pakistan, India will have to defeat Afghanistan in their next meeting. If India manages to seal the game with a good margin, it will be an added advantage for the Men in Blue.
Sri Lanka vs Pakistan Match:
If all the above matches go as per India?s requirement, then the final stage would be Sri Lanka vs Pakistan match. If Sri Lanka manages to win that game, they will straightaway head to the Finals of the Asia Cup 2022, however, there will be a tie between India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The net run rate will come into effect and the team with the best NRR will make it through to the Finals where they will face Sri Lanka.
