The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 Mega Auction is set to reshape women’s cricket again in India with some major rules, and the date is now officially revealed. As the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially confirms the WPL 2026 Mega Auction, fans are buzzing with anticipation to see which players are set to stay or who get released.
For the first time in WPL History, the Right to Match (RTM) cards are officially confirmed for the 2026 Mega Auction. The BCCI has also confirmed that each franchise will have an auction purse of Rs. 15 crore for the WPL 2026 Mega Auction. With RTM cards and increased purse limits, the auction promises to be full of surprises and some good bidding wars between franchises.
WPL 2026 Mega Auction Date:
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 Mega Auction will be held between November 25 and 29, 2025; however, these are tentative dates, and the official dates are yet to be announced. Teams must submit their list of retained players by November 5, 2025. Player registration for the auction closes on November 18, 2025.
WPL 2026 Mega Auction Key Dates:
November 05, 2025: Deadline to Submit retention list
November 07, 2025: Franchises to provide auction player lists
Novemeber 18, 2025: Last Date for Player registration
November 20, 2025: Official Auction player list to be released by BCCI
WPL Rentention Rules & RTM Explained:
Team Rentention Limit:
Each WPL Franchise can retain up to five players.
Maximum 3 Capped Indian Players
Maximum 2 Overseas players
Maximum 2 uncapped Indian Players
If all five are retained, at least one must be an uncapped Indian.
Right to Match (RTM):
RTM cards debut in WPL, teams can use RTM to buy back a player who was part of their 2025 squad by matching the top bid.
If a team retains all 5 allowed players, RTM cards cannot be used.

WPL 2026 Auction Purse & Salary Slabs
Teams will have a fixed auction purse of Rs. 15 crore. Purse deductions are based on the number and value of players retained.
