Adelaide Strikers batted first, but they lost two wickets in the second over of the inning. However, later, Matt Short took charge and played an impressive innings of 56 runs. Later, no other batter stood, and the Adelaide Strikers got all out by just 155 runs in 20 overs. From the Melbourne Stars bowling unit, Haris Rauf and Tom Curran got three wickets each.

In the second inning, Melbourne Stars easily chased the target of 156 runs in just 18.1 overs.
