Asia Cup 2025 Super4 Points Table: India National Team qualify for the Final after beating Bangladesh, Sri Lanka get knocked out

India have secured a spot in the T20 Asia Cup 2025 final with a 41-run win over Bangladesh, knocking Sri Lanka out of contention. Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India impressed with both bowling and captaincy, as Bumrah, Kuldeep, and Varun starred with the ball. Despite some dropped catches, India’s fielding had moments of brilliance. Abhishek Sharma’s quick fifty gave India a strong start, but a middle-order collapse saw them fall short of a 200-plus total. Bangladesh’s bowlers, especially Mustafizur, Sakib, and Rishad, were effective, but their batting faltered apart from Saif Hassan. Bangladesh now face Pakistan in a winner-takes-all match to decide who meets India in the final.

India qualify for the final of the T20 Asia Cup 2025 after securing a comfortable victory by a margin of 41 runs in their second Super-4 match of the tournament and this win of the Men in Blue means bad news for Sri Lanka as they are knocked out of the race to the final. And, the game between Bangladesh and Pakistan today, will decide who faces the Suryakumar Yadav-led outfit in the final on Sunday! It is a winner-take-all match.

Must Read - Asia Cup 2025-India National Team must be wary of Pakistan this time, needs to avoid the error of the 2022 Asia Cup in the Super4

This was a tricky pitch to bat on and it was a top-quality Indian bowling attack to deal with! Bangladesh fell prey to both. India rotated the bowlers really well, the bowlers got most things right and the captaincy from Surya Kumar Yadav was pretty impressive too!

The only blip in the Indian effort in the second innings, was the high catching. Not that there weren't moments of brilliance in the field, like the direct hit by Surya to run Jaker Ali Anik out, but, even in 'the ring of fire' lighting system in place here in Dubai, there were quite a dropped catches that needed to be taken without much fuss!

Jasprit Bumrah (2-18) and Kuldeep Yadav (3-18) were the bowlers to rock the Bangladesh batting, and, Varun Chakaravarthy taking two wickets is great, in fact, relieving news, for the Indian team management!

Saif Hassan was the only Bangladeshi batter to get going. His shots in the air, through the line of the ball, were highlights of his innings! He deservingly reached his fifty. But, he also lived a charmed life, that too needs to be pointed out.

Four changes to the team and Jaker Ali Anik's captaincy debut have not quite gone according to plan for Bangladesh, but they go again tomorrow for the all-important game. What they need, is Litton Das and Taskin Ahmed back in the playing XI.

As for India, it is about being clinical in all three departments and being ruthless, without really making too many changes in the batting order.

At the start of the match, Bangladesh asked India to put up a total on the board. With his pace and ability to swing the ball, Tanzim Hasan Sakib challenged both Indian openers, but after a cautious start, the opening duo of Abhishek and Gill started scoring vigorously. It wasn't long before the former reached his fifty, but he ultimately departed due to an avoidable run-out.

After that, India dropped from 112/2 to 128/5 due to numerous alterations in the batting lineup, coupled with impressive bowling and exceptional fielding from Bangladesh. The bowling unit of the Tigers executed remarkable death overs, which caused India to fall short of 170 runs from what appeared to be a 200-plus score while Abhishek was at the crease. They effectively utilized the conditions and, more importantly, hindered the formation of partnerships after the halfway mark. Mustafizur and Sakib performed brilliantly throughout the match, while Rishad Hossain claimed some crucial wickets.
