Asia Cup 2025: India qualifies for the Super Four stage, Omam eliminated after defeat to UAE

Wth the win over Oman, not only did the UAE win, they also paved the way for India to qualify for the Asia Cup 2025.

The Indian Cricket Team have become the first team in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 to qualify for the Super Four stage of the tournament. They achieved the feat after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) beat Oman in match 7 of the tournament. 

The match between the UAE and Oman took place at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The home side defeated Oman by 42 runs and kept themselves alive in the tournament. With the loss, Oman got eliminated from the tournament, becoming the first team to be out. 

UAE batted first and posted 172 runs on the board. Skipper Muhammad Waseem led from the front and hit 69 runs. Along with him, opening batter  Alishan Sharafu, who hit 51, added 88 runs for the opening partnership to put the opposition under pressure.

Muhammad Zohaib (21) and Harshit Kaushik (19*) played handy knocks as UAE posted a total of 172. Then, with the ball, they were top-notch as they bundled out Oman for 130 to win the game by 42 runs. Junaid Siddique was the star with the ball as he bagged four wickets. 

India qualifies for the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025 

Wth the win, not only did the UAE win, they also paved the way for India to qualify for the Asia Cup 2025. The Men in Blue became the first team in the tournament to reach the next stage and now will be keen to carry on the same momentum in that stage. 

India started the Asia Cup 2025 with a win against the UAE by 9 wickets. After that, they beat Pakistan by 7 wickets in Dubai. They are sitting at the top of the points table with four points and a superior net run rate. 

They will be next facing Oman in their last league game on 19th September. They would be keen to win the game and enter the Super Four stage on a high note.
