Ashes 2025-26: Pat Cummins Returns to Lead Australia in Third Ashes Test at Adelaide
Pat Cummins returned to the Australia squad for the third test of the Ashes 2025-26 at Adelaide. Pat Cummins has not played any cricket for the last five months due to a back injury. But now he is fully fit to lead the Australian team at a crucial stage of the Ashes 2025-26.
A Massive Boost for Australia Menโs National Cricket Team ahead of the third test of the Ashes 2025-26 as their captain and star fast bowler Pat Cummins has officially returned to the squad. The Third Ashes 2025-26 Test will be played at Adelaide Oval from December 17, 2025, and Cummins is set to lead the Australia side once again.
Pat Cummins has not played any cricket for the last five months due to a back injury. Cummins played his last match back in July against the West Indies. Since then, Cummins has been recovering from a stress injury in his lower back. But now he is fully fit to lead the Australian team at a crucial stage of the Ashes 2025-26.
Hazlewood Ruled Out, Cummins Fill the Gap:
Australian star bowler Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the remainder of the Ashes 2025-26 series due to Achilles and hamstring injuries. Meanwhile, Pat Cummins returned to the Australia squad; however, now, Cummins becomes more valuable after Hazlewood was ruled out of the series.
Pat Cummins, along with Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland, and Michael Neser, will be one of the strongest pace attacks among all test-playing nations. With this, Hazlewood will now focus on his preparation for the ICC Menโs T20 World Cup 2026, which is set to start on February 07, 2026.
The Veteran spinner Nathan Lyon is also back in the squad after missing the second test. Lyon will be very effective, and his experience will give Australia an upper hand at Adelaide. The All-rounder Beau Webster also returns to the squad to add more depth in both batting and bowling. Pat Cummins (Captain), Steve Smith, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey, Brendan Doggett, Cameron Green, Jake Weatherald, Beau Webster, Nathan Lyon, Michael Neser, Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland.
