The ongoing Ashes 2023 series has been keeping everyone on their toes. The competition between bat and ball has been enthralling to watch as both the teams have fought tooth and nail and have left no stone unturned in outclassing others. But Australia have proved why they are the champions as they have taken the lead of 2-0.

The Pat Cummins-led side is just one victory away from etching history. They haven’t won an Ashes series in England since 2001. They are on the verge of creating history as they manage the win in the third series they’ll bag the series with two games to go. 

Australia played like champions in the first two games as they bagged the first game by 2 wickets at Edgbaston and then followed it up with a 43-run win at the Lords. The third game is now slated to take place on Thursday (6th July) and they have announced the squad for the game. 

Nathan Lyon has been ruled out of the series due to a leg injury but the management hasn’t named any replacement in the team. Cricket Australia has released Matthew Renshaw from the squad but has been informed to remain in England and be available should injury strike the touring party again.

Also, James Peirson has been added into the team as is as cover for Josh Inglis, who left back home during the first Test for the birth or his child. The rest of the squad is similar to what Australia fielded in the first two matches. The injury to Nathan Lyon means that it’ll be an opportunity for Toddy Murphy to make his Ashes debut
