The 2025-26 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy is generating considerable buzz, with Rohit Sharma's explosive 155-run innings in the Mumbai vs Sikkim match and Virat Kohli's brilliant 131-run knock in the Delhi vs Andhra Pradesh game adding to the tournament's excitement. The Andhra Pradesh cricket team was captained by Srikar Bharat, while Rishabh Pant led the Delhi cricket team. Pant won the toss and elected to field first, inviting Andhra Pradesh to bat. In response, the Andhra Pradesh team scored 298 runs in their allotted 50 overs. The team's batting start wasn't ideal, but in the middle order, Ricky Bhui played a magnificent innings of 122 runs off 105 balls, including 11 fours and seven sixes. Captain Nitish Reddy contributed 23 runs, Maramreddy Hemanth Reddy 27, Singupuram Prasad 28, and K S Narasimha Raju 17 runs, helping the team reach a competitive total.

In the bowling department, Simarjeet Singh, who previously played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL last season and is now representing Delhi, took five wickets. He conceded 54 runs in 10 overs at an economy rate of 5.40. Prince Yadav, who represents Lucknow in the IPL, also managed to take three wickets.

The Delhi cricket team chased down the target of 298 runs in just 37.4 overs to win the match.  Virat Kohli, one of the greatest chase masters in modern-day cricket, played a crucial role in this chase, scoring 131 runs off 101 balls with 14 fours and three sixes. He was ably supported by Priyansh Arya of Punjab Kings, who played a blistering innings of 74 runs off just 44 balls, including seven fours and five sixes.

In the middle order, Nitish Rana also played a crucial innings, scoring 77 runs off just 55 balls with the help of nine fours and two sixes, gradually bringing the score closer to victory. The Andhra Pradesh team displayed good cricket, but due to their inexperience, they were unable to win the match.
