AB de Villiers predicts Virat Kohli’s scores in the Tata IPL 2022 for RCB: Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricketer AB de Villiers is expecting Virat Kohli to undergo a highly successful season with the bat in the IPL 2022. De Villiers didn’t shy away from predicting Virat’s total runs in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and said that Kohli will score over 600 runs in the season.

The former RCB skipper, Virat Kohli, looked in solid touch in his first match against Punjab Kings (PBKS). The legendary batter played a crafty knock of 41 runs from 29 deliveries, which unfortunately resulted in a losing cause.

RCB lost its opening match against Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) following derailed performance from the bowlers in the slog overs. The likes of Mohammad Siraj, Harshal Patel received brutal treatment from the Punjab batters in the final overs due to their poor line and lengths.

De Villiers reckoned that Virat Kohli will be an extremely dangerous batter without the captaincy pressure.

“I think the most exciting thing for me is Virat not being captain and releasing a bit of the pressure, really just going out there and freeing up. I am expecting a very big season from Virat. I am thinking 600+ runs from him this year,” he said while speaking to VUSport Official.

Earlier, Virat stepped down from the leadership and eventually, RCB appointed Faf du Plessis as the skipper of the side for the Tata IPL 2022.

The former South African cricketer also heaped praise on his compatriot Faf du Plessis.

Further de Villiers added that he expects a good season from the youngsters in the side. He is looking forward to seeing them evolving through this season and performing brilliantly.

“He (Kohli) will be in Faf’s ear, but Faf is also very experienced as well. He has got good cricketing training on him and he would allow Virat and some of the youngsters to just go and free up, and just enjoy the IPL.

“I don’t know what to expect (from RCB) but I expect some individuals to really rise in this IPL from the RCB setup,” De Villiers added.

Notably, AB de Villiers, who was one of the most crucial cogs in RCB’s lineup, took all format retirement last year owing to which fans will not be seeing him in the red and black jersey in the ongoing Tata IPL 2022.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is facing Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in its second game in the DY Patil Stadium, today. Faf du Plessis’ RCB has won the toss and invited Kolkata Knight Riders to bat first.
