Fans on Twitter reacted after the Pakistan Cricket Team batter Babar Azam bagged yet another failure in the ongoing first Test against the South Africa Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Babar Azam, who walked out to bat at four, was expected to play a big role with the bat, especially since he had been out of the action for a while. The batter came out to bat when skipper Shan Masood got out for 76 in the 48th over of the innings.
Babar Azam had a decent start with the bat and it seemed that he would finally end his century drought. However, that wasn’t the case as the batter yet again threw the start that he had and bagged another low score, which disappointed his fans.
Babar Azam was removed by Simon Harmer as the spinner bowled a floated full delivery outside off, turned in sharply, Babar played down the wrong line and got beaten on the inside edge to get struck on the front pad. He opted for DRS and the umpires also confirmed the same.
With his dismissal, Babar Azam has now gone 73 innings without scoring a century, dismissed today for just 23 runs. His last international century came against Nepal in the Asia Cup 2023. Talking about his test record, he averages only 23.57 in the Last 14 Test matches.
This will be one of the biggest concerns for Pakistan, especially with this being their first series of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC). They would want their premier batter to score as much as runs as possible or else they will have to look at someone else.
