WPL 2025: Mumbai reached the WPL final for the second time, created a stir with the ball and bat in the eliminator; defeated Gujarat by 47 runs

In reply, Gujarat could score only 166 runs in 19.2 overs and lost the match by 47 runs. 

Gujarat, who played the eliminator match for the first time, was defeated by Mumbai for the seventh time. The journey of the team led by Ashley Gardner ended with this. Chasing the target of 214 runs, Gujarat's batsmen performed disappointingly. Earlier, their bowlers also looked defeated in front of Mumbai.

In the crucial match, Gujarat lost three wickets in the powerplay itself. Shabnam Ismail dismissed Beth Mooney (6). After this, Harleen Deol (8) was run out. On the fourth ball of the sixth over Hayley Matthews bowled captain Ashleigh Gardner (8). At the same time, Priya Mishra remained unbeaten without opening the account. In this match, Hayley Matthews took three wickets and Amelia Kerr took two wickets for Mumbai. Mumbai is in the final for the second time

This is the second time in WPL history that Mumbai Indians have reached the final. Earlier, the MI team played the final of WPL 2023 and won the title by defeating Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets.
