Will Rain Wash Out IND vs PAK? Colombo Weather Puts Big Match at Risk

The India vs Pakistan match is now under the radar of rain; the match between the arch-rivals is likely to be interrupted due to the bad weather in Colombo, Sri Lanka. India Men’s National Cricket Team and Pakistan Men’s National Cricket Team are playing their third game of the T20 World Cup 2026 on February 15, 2026, at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka’s Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rain is expected in the morning and afternoon on match day. However, the match will be played in the evening and night, so the chances of rain during match time are quite low. But the light showers are still predicted during the match time.

Since the India vs Pakistan match is scheduled to begin at 7 PM (IST), there’s a strong possibility that the toss might be delayed or we might see reduced overs. Fans would be expecting a full game, but the bad weather might not allow the IND vs PAK game to proceed without interruptions. Therefore, we will see the game but not a full 20-over match; there will be cuts in overs.

The drainage system gives hope for a full match

Despite the rain threat, there is still hope for a complete match as the R. Premadasa Stadium is known for having one of the best drainage systems. The Ground also has full-field covers, so the wet-outfield chances will be quite low. The ground staff is also known for their quality work; they can quickly prepare the ground, and matches can start as early as possible.

Therefore, the chances of a complete washout between India and Pakistan are pretty low, but the interruptions will be there.
