Which team will Jacob Bethell play for in IPL 2026?

The England Cricket Team batted Jacob Bethell set the stage on fire with his brutal performance in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2026 against India. The match between the two teams took place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, March 5.

India, who batted first, posted a mammoth total of 253 runs on account of 89 by Sanju Samson. It seemed that it would be an easy win for India but England batter Jacob Bethell had a different plan and gave a real hard time to the Indian bowlers in the chase.

Despite wickets falling at the other end, Jacob Bethell took the attack to the Indian bowlers and slammed them all over the park. The left-hander first hit a 19-ball half-century and then made sure that he took his game to the next level.

Bethell went to hit a stupendous century as he hit a 45-ball hundred, which is the second fastest in the history of the tournament. He along with Will Jacks almost sealed the game for his team but got run out in the end.

With Bethell playing a great hand in the T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final, many have been wondering who he will play for in the IPL. And the answer is Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a team which he played for last season as well. 

Bethell left IPL 2025 midway due to international duties and in his place, Tim Seifert was added to the side. The England batter has played two games in the IPL with his last match being against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 23.

With the kind of form he is in, he would be keen to help RCB win. The IPL 2026 is expected to kick off on March 28 although the official confirmation is yet to be made.
