West Indies test skipper Jason Holder along with 9 other cricketers to miss Bangladesh’s tour due to covid-19 related issues. Cricket West Indies (CWI) on Tuesday announced that 10 players have pulled out of the country’s tour to Bangladesh due to “Covid-19 related concerns or personal fears“.

Evin Lewis, Kieron Pollard, Roston Chase, Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, Sheldon Cottrell, Shai Hope, Jason Holder, Shimron Hetmyer, and Nicholas Pooran have pulled out their names from the respective squads.

West Indies is scheduled to play three One Day Internationals and two test games in Chattogram and Dhaka. The tour will begin from 20th January with ODIs.

Cricket West Indies said its Covid-19 policies give players permission and allow them to opt-out of the squads for an overseas tour when based on players’ safety.

The decision to pull out names in any particular overseas tour will not impact their future selection in any case,” it said.

The Test squad will be led by the experienced Kraigg Brathwaite, with Jermaine Blackwood as vice-captain. Former West Indies A team captain Jason Mohammed will lead the ODI team with Sunil Ambris as vice-captain.

West Indies test side will be led by Kraigg Brathwaite in absence of regular skipper Jason Holder while Jermaine Blackwood will be his deputy in the tour.

For the ODI squad, Jason Mohammed who has been former captain of West Indies A will lead the limited over side with Sunil Ambris acting as Vice-Captain.

Jan 20: 1st ODI at Dhaka

Jan 22: 2nd ODI at Dhaka

Jan 25: 3rd ODI at Chattogram

Feb 3-7: 1st Test at Chattogram

Feb 11-15: 2nd Test Match at Dhaka
