[Watch] Rohit, Virat sweat out in nets ahead of INDvsPAK clash in Asia Cup 2022: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have begun their preparation ahead of India’s opening fixture against Pakistan. Both the batters were seen hitting nets and fine-tuning the form before the high-octane clash.
Team India and Pakistan will face each other on 28th August in the Asia Cup 2022 in the Dubai International Stadium.
In the video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were seen sweating out in the nets in the ICC Academy Ground.
“TeamIndia captain Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli get into the groove ahead of the first clash against Pakistan,” wrote BCCI in the shared video.
Notably, Virat’s form has been a cause of concern for the Indian management for a while now. Even though Virat has shown encouraging signs in parts, he hasn’t been able to remain consistent with his batting, especially in the T20Is.
The upcoming tournament will be crucial for Kohli to regain his form. The Asia Cup 2022 will also act as Kohli’s audition for the T20 World Cup 2022. It would get a little bit tough for Kohli to make his cut in the World Cup squad if he fails to recover his rhythm.
India will open its campaign in the Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan on 28th August. Men in Blue will then play against Hong Kong in their second match on 31st August.
