Watch - No Handshake policy continues as Ayush Mahtre refuses to shake hands with Pakistan Captain | India U19 vs Pakistan U19

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field against India in their Super 6 match of the 2026 U-19 World Cup. India, in strong form and eyeing revenge for their Asia Cup final loss, featured Deepesh Devendran in place of Udhav Mohan, with focus on young star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

The Under-19 National Cricket Teams of Pakistan & India are taking part in the 2026 edition of the Under-19 World Cup and they are taking on each other in the super-6 match of the tournament. The match got underway at 1pm and the toss half-an-hour before that. Talking about the toss, Farhan Yousaf - the Pakistani skipper won the toss and chose to field first against the Boys in Blue.

With a moisture hint on the pitch, Farhan mentioned that the fielding call was chosen which allowed his team's bowling-unit to make use of the favorable conditions on offer. He further added that the difference between the pitches of Bulawayo & Harare was next to negligible and stressed that his team is focusing on playing with a positive-intent rather than defending the target.

The whole Cricket world will have their eyes on 14-year-old batting wonderkid Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who continues to be the biggest talking-point of the competition and will be looking to play a match-winning inning against India's bitter-rivals Pakistan.

India, the five-time champions, have had a successful campaign thus far. They defeated the United States of America by a margin of six-wickets to in the opening encounter of the competition, and they went on to win convincingly against New Zealand & Bangladesh. For the Boys in Blue, this contest is especially significant. After losing badly to Pakistan in the final of the 2026 U-19 Asia Cup, they are keen to exact retribution.

Following the Pahalgam terrorist-attack and Operation-Sindoor, India stuck to their "no handshake" policy with Pakistan in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup as well. Ayush Mhatre, the captain of India, stated that although his team was confident in their form, they would have like to bat first.

He pointed out that the players were able to adapt to the rain delays earlier in the competition thanks to the improved weather in the last two games. India replaced Udhav Mohan in the lineup with Deepesh Devendran.
