Vivo IPL 2021: Daniel Sams re-joins the RCB squad after returning covid-negative

Vivo IPL 2021: RCB’s Daniel Sams tested covid positive.

Vivo IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder Daniel Sams has been tested covid positive, one day prior to the tournament opener. Till now, RCB has recorded two covid positive players in the camp. Earlier, dasing opener Devdutt Padikkal was tested covid positive and now Daniel Sams.

RCB confirmed the report and said, the management is monitoring Sams health. When Daniel Sams arrived in the team hotel his first covid test report came negative however the second test turned out positive.

“Daniel Sams checked into the team hotel in Chennai on April 3rd, with a negative COVID report on arrival. His report from the 2nd test on 7th April came positive. Sams is currently asymptomatic and he is currently in isolation at a designated medical facility,” RCB said in an official statement.

The Australian all-rounder was traded from Delhi Capitals before the IPL 2021 Auction in an all-cash deal by RCB.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians scout and Wicketkeeping consultant Kiran More was also tested covid positive and Mumbai Indians (MI) medical team will be monitoring him. The five times champions later confirmed that all the other members of the franchise have been negative in the covid test done after Kiran More’s positive case.

Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will lock horns on 09th April in Chennai for the tournament opener.

Both the teams will fight to win the game and Mumbai Indians will especially hope to break the jinx of starting a campaign with a loss.

According to the experts, Mumbai Indians are the favourites to win the title yet another time and ink history becoming the first IPL franchise to win IPL title in three consecutive years.
