IPL 2024: Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has brought a significant move as the franchise is on the lookout for new coaching staff ahead of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

As per the recent developments, it can be confirmed that RCB is looking for fresh faces in the coaching staff for the upcoming edition of the IPL after deciding to part ways with the current head coach Sanjay Bangar and head of cricket operations Mike Hesson. Notably, the two mentioned coaches have been in hand and glove with the franchise for close to five years now.

However, reviewing how the team has failed multiple times to lift the coveted IPL title, RCB is up for a major revamp as the preparations for the Tata IPL 2024 begin.

While Mike Hesson joined RCB back in 2019 after RCB’s horrid performance in the previously held season, which saw them sit at the bottom position in the league stages, Bangar was promoted to the role of head coach in RCB during IPL 2022 following then-incumbent Simon Katich’s exit from the team citing personal reasons.

As per the reports, RCB’s coaching staff could undergo a major overhaul after doing away with the likes of Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar. The franchise is yet to confirm its partnership with bowling coach Adam Griffith.

In the pursuit of new ideas and plans to take the franchise one step closer to its dream of lifting the IPL title, Royal Challengers Bangalore is looking to recruit fresh faces in the coaching staff for the Tata IPL 2024.

Notably, RCB failed to qualify for the playoffs in the recently held season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Faf du Plessis-led side finished sixth in the points table with seven wins and as many losses in the 14 league stage matches of IPL 2023.

Interestingly, Mike Hesson was also leading the coaching staff of RCB’s women’s wing in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). The RCB Women ended up fourth in the inaugural season of the tournament.

Recently, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) confirmed the appointment of Justin Langer as the head coach of the team for the IPL 2024. The franchise parted ways with Andy Flower as the contracts of IPL coaching staff are up for renewal in September.
