Virat Kohli names GOAT Players in IPL history, ignores MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma: Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli has opened up on the two players who he thinks are the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) to play in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL). Kohli, ahead of his team’s fixture against Punjab Kings on 20th April, picked two personalities, who have had played a huge impact on their IPL franchises over the years.

Although Virat Kohli said it was a tough choice, he ended up choosing his former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate AB de Villiers and former Mumbai Indians pacer Lasith Malinga as the two GOAT players.

“AB de Villiers and Lasith Malinga are the GOATs of IPL,” replied Virat Kohli in a conversation shared by JioCinema.

Kohli has shared a dressing room with AB de Villiers during the latter’s days with RCB in the Indian Premier League (IPL). De Villiers played a huge role in developing a culture in the team and enjoys a large fan base with the team.

Talking about his IPL stats, the South African cricketer has mustered over 5000 runs after playing 140 matches in the IPL at an impressive average of 39.70. What’s more intriguing than his average is his strike rate which clocks over 150. To add the cherry on top of the cake, de Villiers also has slammed three centuries in the tournament.

Lasith Malinga, on the other side, has played a huge role in the success of Mumbai Indians (MI). The unorthodox speedster has etched his name in the history book of the Indian Premier League with 170 wickets from 122 matches.

It’s important to note that Lasith Malinga has helped Mumbai Indians (MI) win five IPL titles. He played a key role in winning the IPL 2019 title against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) which eventually became his last assignment in the IPL.
