India have been on a winning streak since the start of the group stage games, as they won all three group stage matches against Bangladesh, the USA, and Ireland. Then the Men in Blue took on New Zealand in their first Super Six match, and they turned that game into a one-sided affair as the Uday Sharan-led team defeated the Kiwi’s by a huge margin of 214 runs. Batting first, Sarfaraz Khan’s younger brother Musheer Khan played a phenomenal knock of 131 runs, which allowed the Men in Blue to post a mammoth total of 295 runs on the board.
In reply, the Kiwi’s were all out for a mere 81 runs as a four-wicket haul from Saumy Pandey (4-19) and a brace of wickets by Raj Limbani (2-17) & Musheer Khan (2-10) handed New Zealand their biggest defeat against any team in the U19 ODI World Cup. Uday Sharan and Company would be looking to continue their unbeaten run in the tournament by winning their second Super Six game against Nepal.
Nepal, on the other hand, didn’t have a good group stage as they managed to win just a single game against Afghanistan by one wicket, which allowed them to barely qualify for the Super Six stage. They lost their other two group stage encounters against New Zealand and Pakistan. Nepal lost their first Super Six match vs. Bangladesh by five wickets as the Bengal Tigers easily chased down the target of 170 runs in 25 overs. The Nepalese team would be looking to end the Men in Blue’s unbeaten run in their final match ahead of the semi-finals.
