Delhi Capitals (DC) had a poor start to their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 campaign. They suffered a massive 50-run loss at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and it’s fair to say that the loss in the opening game would’ve hampered their confidence. But it’s still early in the tournament as they still have 13 games left and with the kind of talent they have, they can stage a dominating comeback.

In their first match against LSG, they bowled, batted and fielded poorly. Opting for the ball, they conceded many runs and also dropped catches as well. Based on poor fielding and bowling, they conceded 193 runs. But they looked clueless against the pace of Mark Wood. Skipper David Warner scored a half-century but wasn’t at his fluent best. They struggled to get going and managed only 143 runs, losing the game by 50 runs.

Two changes that Delhi Capitals (DC) might make for their second game against Gujarat Titans (GT)

Delhi Capitals would want to forget their opening game as it was a really poor performance from their end. They are next slated to face Gujarat Titans at home on 4th April. As their second game is around the corner, let’s take a look at two changes that Delhi Capitals (DC) might make for their second game against Gujarat Titans (GT).

1. Phil Salt in place of Rovman Powell

One change that Delhi Capitals might look to do for their second game against Gujarat Titans is they can bring Phil Slat in place of Rovman Powell. It’s fair to say that the David Warner-led side lacked a quality keeper in the team, which cost them a few runs. Therefore the West Indies batter might have to sacrifice his place in the side for a specialist keeper in Salt. Also, Powell didn’t make most of the opportunity he got and didn’t look settled with the bat. He managed just 1 run. On the other hand, Salt has been in staggering form and can strengthen the team’s batting lineup.

2. Yash Dhull in place of Sarfaraz Khan

Another change that Delhi Capitals would be looking to make in their second game is that they could bring in young Yash Dhull in place of Sarfaraz Khan, who had a poor outing with both bat and gloves in the game. The batter scored just 4 runs in 9 balls and looked unsettled at the crease. On the other hand, Dhull has been in fine form in the domestic circuit and his ability to hit the bowlers right from the ball 1 could come in handy for the team in the middle overs.
