The Rise of Indian Uncapped Indian Players:

The 20-year-old Uttar Pradesh all-rounder Prashant Veer shocked everyone by becoming the most expensive uncapped player in IPL History. CSK bought Prashant Veer for Rs. 14.20 crore from the base price of Rs. 30 Lakh, and Prashant is likely Ravindra Jadeja’s long-term replacement.

CSK bought another uncapped player, Karthik Sharma, for Rs. 14.20 crore, he is known for explosive batting in domestic cricket and might be seen as a long-term finisher. CSK changed their typical experienced player strategy to trusting young players at the IPL 2026 Auction.

Overall, the IPL 2026 auction is more focused on young talents over foreign players, who once used to dominate these mini-auctions but it’s good that young Indian talents are getting a good amount from the IPL auction.
