Things not right between Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma? The Indian captain breaks the silence on it
Indian Cricket Team captain Shubman Gill has shared his take on the rumours of things not going well between him and ex-skipper Rohit Sharma. He said that things are normal between them and whenever he is in trouble, he will go to Rohit.
The Indian Cricket Team is all set to lock horns with the Australian Cricket Team in the three-match ODI series. The series will begin on October 19 in Perth followed by the second and third games to be played on 23 and 25 October in Adelaide and Sydney respectively.
Ahead of the ODI series, the Indian cricket team underwent a massive change. Rohit Sharma was sacked as the captain and Shubman Gill was handed the responsibility. He also replaced Rohit as the test captain after the batter announced his retirement from the longest format of the game.
The narrative that is going on outside is different but there is nothing different in our relationship now - Shubman Gill on his relationship with Rohit Sharma
Since then there have been talks about the rift between Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. However, the Indian skipper broke the silence on the same, saying that it is only a narrative and things between them are pretty much the same as they were before.
He said that Rohit Sharma is very helpful and if he gets stuck somewhere, he will go to him and ask him for help. Speaking to Star Sports, he said:
"The narrative that is going on outside is different but there is nothing different in our relationship now. We are just like how we used to be before, everything is the same. He is very helpful. If there is any observation he makes after his years of experience, he tells me & if there is anything I want to ask him, I go and ask him and ask his opinion, and ask what he would have done in such a situation. I like to get the thoughts of everyone, and then based on my understanding of the game, take the final decision".
Gill also talked about his equation with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, saying that the duo are always ready to help him and everything in the team is same as it was before.
"Nothing has changed even now, everything in the team is just like it was before. My equation with Virat Kohli bhai and Rohit Sharma bhai is still the same. If I ever need any advice, I ask them how they would handle a particular situation, and I take their suggestions and advice, which is very helpful. They are always ready to help me".
