TATA IPL 2023 Auction
IMG SRC: Australian Cricket Team

The TATA IPL 2023 Auction will take place on December 23. The venue for the auction is Kochi. With that being said, the auction will take place two days before Christmas. It was shifted earlier after a request from the franchises. Finally, after a drought of two years, England star Ben Stokes has registered for the TATA IPL 2023 Auction. He most recently appeared in the TATA IPL 202 season, opening the batting for the Rajasthan Royals. Sam Curran will also be there. So, who are the other top all-rounders in the TATA IPL 2023 Auction? Here is a look:

Cameron Green will be in Demand at the TATA IPL 2023 Auction:

The big 6-foot Australian is going to go for big money. Reports say that the Delhi Capitals have kept aside a significant amount for the all-rounder. The Chennai Super Kings can also bid for him as he looks like an apt replacement for Shane Watson who was a true asset to them. With age being on his side and with the exploits that he showed in the recently concluded Australia tour of India, Green has become the talk of the town. He strikes at 145.33. He is also a bank for 3 overs in every game.

Ben Stokes can be the Highest Bid in the TATA IPL 2023 Auction:

Sir Ben Stokes is a big match player. Ben will also be in demand in the TATA IPL 2023 Auction. I predict him to be in the top 3 bids of the IPL Auction 2023. His batting, bowling, and fielding are elite. He is a complete package. Any aspiring cricketer can look up to the man Stokes has pioneered the idea of the Bazzball in test cricket too.

That speaks volumes of the ability that the dude has. He has always had an attacking instinct. Mumbai Indians are looking for someone to replace Kieron Pollard, who is better than Stokesy? The Sunrisers on the other hand is looking for a captain. But speaking financially the Punjab Kings have an upper hand as they have a huge purse.

Sam Curran has also Registered for the TATA IPL 2023 Auction:

Sam Curran has registered this time around too. He missed the last auction as the ECB had arranged a rehabilitation program for his injuries. Sam has previously played for the Chennai Super Kings and the Punjab Kings. With that being said, many teams can go behind him. He fits in the scheme of things for the Lucknow Super Giants as they will be looking to replace Jason Holder. He gives an added dimension as he is a left-arm seamer. He can be a pinch-hitter and can also be an opener as CSK has used him this way earlier too.

Shakib Al Hasan:

Shakib is one of the most experienced players in this auction. He has been around the international cricket scene since 2003. Shakib has a lot to offer the young Indian players. If not as a player he can be chosen as a mentor but he will add unmatched value to the IPL 2023. He has registered in the 1.5 crore base price category. His abilities need no introduction. Teams looking for a left-arm spinner can go for him.

Odean Smith/Sherfane Rutherford:

Both these players were in demand in the last auction. But they couldn’t stand the hype that was created. But they still have the skillset. Sherfane has been associated with two teams earlier. He played with the Mumbai Indians and with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was cited to replace Kieron Pollard but there is only one Polly, isn’t it? Odean on the other hand was decent for the Punjab Kings. Any team looking for an out-and-out fast bowler can go for him. Both the players will end up in the 3 to 4-crore price range.
