T20 World Cup

T20 World Cup: The 15-member squad for India that is supposedly going to travel to Australia for the world T20 has been recently announced by the BCCI. Ahead of a tournament as big as the World T20, it’s going to be really important for India to select the most suitable player combinations who shall be able to bring out their best on the field.

Amongst several names present in the squad declared by BCCI, there were certain players who missed out on an opportunity to feature in the squad. Quite a few players who have been delivering quality performances for the team have been denied an opportunity to be a part of India’s World T20 squad.

It’s time for us to have a look at the top three players who were excluded from India’s World T20 squad much to the shock of everyone.

3. Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson is one of those players who certainly could have fit into India’s World T20 squad. The right-hander has delivered fantastic performances in the shortest format of the game for India in the recent past and also notched up his highest-ever T20I score of 77 against Ireland a few months ago. His ability to strike the ball to long distances and clear the boundary at will has been remarkable too.

With 179 runs in just 6 T20Is so far this year at a strike rate of 158.30, the wicketkeeper-batsman could certainly have been a very good addition to India’s squad for the T20 World Cup in Australia.

2. Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan has been a rising star for India with the bat in the recent white-ball matches in which he’s played. His incredible big-hitting abilities and quality performances at the top of the order have been impressive recently.

The left-handed was in fine form with the bat in the T20I series which he played against South Africa a few months ago at home. With 430 runs including 3 fifties in 14 T20Is so far this year at a strike rate of 130.40 he certainly wouldn’t have been a bad choice for India to have in their 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup.

1. Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar’s not being included in India’s squad for the World T20 is possibly the biggest surprise amongst the majority of the Indian fans and experts as well. The man who holds the record for best bowling spell in a T20I match wasn’t provided with a place amongst India’s 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup.

The right arm pacer who was marred with injuries throughout the recent past has been impressive for India in the limited opportunities that he’s been given by the team management. Owing to injuries and inconsistent performances recently as a result, Deepak Chahar who managed just 3 wickets in 4 T20Is so far this year was possibly not considered a suitable option by the team management to fit into India’s World T20 squad.
