India

After a horrible performance in Asia Cup 2022, Team India will now shift their focus to the much-awaited T20 World Cup 2022. They might not be the favourites this year, having given consecutive poor displays in the last few tournaments, but that might work in favour of Rohit Sharma and Co as they will be playing without much pressure now.

This, of course, is our first World Cup under the leadership of Rohit Sharma and it will thus be interesting to see whether his captaincy brings a new trophy to our cabinet. India’s World Cup captain begins in about a month’s time – on 23rd October against arch-rivals Pakistan

In this article, we shall be taking a look at everything you need to know about Team India ahead of T20 World Cup 2022.

T20 World Cup 2022: India’s Players to Watch out for

1. Virat Kohli – While it is true that former Indian captain Virat Kohli has been unable to show his original level of performances for the last few years, he has recently made sort of a comeback in the recently played Asia Cup where he finally got his much awaited 71st International century against Afghanistan. VK is looking for redemption and what better platform to redeem himself than the T20 World Cup itself?

2. Dinesh Karthik – Ever since having made a comeback in the Indian national team, Dinesh Karthik has been simply phenomenal. Although there is a lot of undergoing debate as to whether to start Dinesh Karthik or Rishabh Pant in the matches, maybe we all agree that when it comes to T20 matches, Karthik has proven to be the better pick time and again, at least in recent times. This will perhaps be his last ever World Cup and thus we’ve got to keep an eye on Dinesh Karthik to see what he is capable of doing.

3. Jasprit Bumrah – We’ve got to admit that Jasprit Bumrah is not only our most important asset, but he is also one of our biggest assets overall. Jassi falls under the list of the very best pace bowlers in the world and there’s no denying that if he were in the Asia Cup squad, things might have been a lot different for India. Well, he has now returned ahead of the T20 World Cup and we will see what valuable input he adds to the team.

T20 World Cup 2022: Winning Prediction

It will probably be a bit too much to say that India are one of the favourites to win the 2022 T20 World Cup as they have proven themselves to be unworthy of that tag time and again. However, it would be foolish to write India off. After all, the blues have one of the strongest squads in the T20 World Cup and have some of the very best players in the world who can change games with their individual brilliance. We predict that India will qualify for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 but will fail to lift the trophy as they still have a lot of flaws.
