Sri Lanka Tour of Bangladesh 2024: After the conclusion of the domestic T20 Cricket league of Bangladesh i.e., Bangladesh Premier League, Sri Lanka are set to tour Bangladesh for a multi-format cricket series in the month of March. The tour of Sri Lanka will include all three formats. They will play a T20I series, an ODI series, and lastly a Test series. The Sri Lanka Tour of Bangladesh will start on 4 March with the first T20I and end on April 3 with the second Test.
Bangladesh will first host the T20I series. The series is scheduled to have 3 T20Is and the first will be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet. The same venue will host all the T20I games of the series. The second match of the series will be played on 6 March and the last will be played on 9 March.
Then it comes to the ODI series. Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram is scheduled to host all three matches and the first of all will be on 13 March. The second ODI will be played on 15 March and the last will be played on 18 March.
With the conclusion of the ODI series, the teams will then move to Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet for the first test of the two-match test series. The first test will start on 22 March and the second is set to start on 30 March. The second Test of the series will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.
As of now, both teams are preparing for the T20I series and have announced the squads for the T20I series. The Sri Lankan team will be led by all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga and Charith Asalanka will be his deputy. Pathum Nissanka was selected in the original squad but will not travel as the player is still recovering from the injury he sustained during the Afghanistan tour. Sri Lanka Management also announced that Charith Asalanka will lead the side in the first two T20Is.
Bangladesh have also announced their T20I side for the series. Litton Das and Taskin Ahmed are back in the T20I side of Bangladesh and Najmul Hossain Shanto has been appointed as the skipper for the hosts.
