Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood to be available for RCB in IPL 2022 from April 9

Vivo IPL 2021: Simon Katich praises Glenn Maxwell for showing maturity for RCB in Vivo IPL 2021.

Vivo IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Simon Katich heaped praises on the Aussie all-rounder Glenn Maxwell after he produces two match-winning knocks in a row.

Katich feels that Maxwell is proving his worth as a multi-utility player for the franchise besides being the best with the bat in the first two games.

The Aussie all-rounder was acquired by RCB for whopping INR 14.25 Crores after a long bidding war against Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2021 auctions in February.

Maxwell in the last IPL season in UAE failed to hit a single ball over the boundary rope for six and had often failed to score winnings runs for the Kings XI Punjab. He was released from the Punjab squad ahead of the IPL 2021 auction owing to his poor form in the Indan Premier League.

“He’s shown a lot of maturity, particularly today (against SRH on Wednesday) when wickets were falling around him… He summed up the conditions really well, and took the game deep, that’s credit to him for his experience for summing it up and then executing right at the end when we needed some quick runs,” said Katich.

“He works closely with Virat for the fielding placements. He makes sure that the guys are in the right places at the right time.”

Katich praised his boys for defending a low total against SRH last night.

“The game was tense and we eventually got over the line. The spirit of the players was I think fantastic in both the last games, regardless of the result,” said Simon Katich.
