Vivo IPL 2021: Scott Kuggeleijn roped in as the replacement of Kane Richardson by RCB.

Vivo IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday named Kiwi pacer Scott Kuggeleijn as the replacement of Kane Richardson for the Vivo IPL 2021.

The Australian pacer Kane Richardson withdrew his name back from the remainder of Vivo IPL 2021 along with Adam Zampa and Andrew Tye due to the upsurge in the number of Covid-19 cases in India.

India is recording over 3 Lakhs covid-19 positive cases on a daily basis after the second wave has come. The healthcare sector is on stress over the last year.

All the three Aussies flew back home on Sunday leaving the fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) midway.

The kiwi pacer Scott Kuggeleijn was the part of Mumbai Indians (MI) reserve list and was in the bio-bubble of the franchise and now he has moved to the bubble of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), ESPNcricinfo reported.

However there is no replacement for the Aussie spinner Adam Zampa who also pulled his name back.

The 29-years old New Zealand pacer has featured in 16 T20Is and two One Day International games for his national side New Zealand. He has also played two IPL games before.
