The Asia Cup 2025 will be taking place in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and will see eight teams taking part.

In what has been the latest development as per the reports in Times of India, it is learned that the Asia Cup 2025 is all set to take place in September. The tournament will run from 5th to 21st in that month and will be played in the T20I format. 

The Asia Cup 2025 will be taking place in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and will see eight teams taking part. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Oman and Hong Kong will participate in the tournament, which will serve as preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. 

Asia Cup 2025 has been in a lot of talks since the last few days

The decision on the Asia Cup 2025 came during the Annual General Meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The meeting took place in Dhaka, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) attended it online. 

Since the last few days, the Asia Cup 2025 has been in a lot of talks as there were a lot of speculations over its future. Due to the political tensions between India and Pakistan, it was even reported that the tournament would be cancelled. 

However, the pressure from broadcasters and other stakeholders reportedly forced ACC, along with BCCI and PCB, to make the decision. The official statement related to this come soon, and the ACC is expected to announce the schedule soon.

India are the defending champions, and since the tournament will be played in T20I format, it will be the young Indian team who will be there. Suryakumar Yadav is expected to lead the side, and there will be no Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who announced their retirement from the format.
