RCB Retained Player List, Released Player List in Tata IPL 2023 & Purse Value
RCB Retained Player List, Released Player List in Tata IPL 2023 & Purse Value: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has announced its official list of retained and released players ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. The franchise has let go of five players from its previous squad and has kept its core alive for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Bangalore-based franchise reached the second qualifier in the Tata IPL 2022. Despite reaching so far in the tournament, Faf du Plessis and his men failed to end their trophy drought. RCB had shelled out INR 55.45 Crores in the auctions last year to fill their arsenal with the right players.
Notably, ahead of the IPL 2023 auction, the RCB think tank has decided to trade Jason Behrendorff to Mumbai Indians (MI) in an all-cash deal. Moreover, the franchise opted to free Aneeshwar Gautam, Chama Milind, Luvnith Sisodia and Sherfane Rutherford from the squad.
Interestingly, Bangalore has retained Rajat Patidar, who was drafted into the squad midway through the IPL 2022 as an injury replacement for Luvnith Sisodia. Patidar had a stellar outing for RCB scoring 333 runs in 8 matches at an impressive average of 55.50.
After retaining 18 players for the IPL 2023, RCB has now INR 8.75 crore purse remaining to spend in the upcoming auction, which will be held on 23rd December in Kochi.
