IPL 2021: RCB called Finn Allen as the replacement of Josh Philippe for IPL 2021.

IPL 2021: Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has signed in New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Finn Allen as the replacement of Australia’s Josh Philippe ahead of IPL 2021. According to the release from the franchise, Philippe will be unavailable for the entire season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

The Aussie batsman had an average start to his Indian T20 career last year. Making his debut for RCB, Philippe could only manage to get 78 runs off five games in UAE. He had a good season of Big Bash League playing for Sidney Sixers. In the 16 outings for his franchise, he amassed 508 runs striking close to 150 clicks.

The New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman came under the scanner of IPL franchises after he topped the charts of Super Smash this season. The 21-years old cricketer scored 512 runs with a strike rate of 194 and smacked 25 towering sixes for Wellington Firebirds.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) acquired Finn Allen for 20 Lakhs Indian Rupees which is the base price. 

The exact reason for his unavailability in the much anticipated IPL 2021 is still unknown. The wicketkeeper-batsman also had a good T20I series against New Zealand. Josh Philippe scored two 40 plus scored in the recently concluded T20I series.
