PCB Awards 2020: Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan nominated.
PCB Awards 2020: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed their nominations for the annual PCB Awards 2020 on Thursday. The final result of the awards will be announced on their digital platforms on Friday.
“12 specific categories have been shortlisted including 10 individual categories, finalized by independent panelists with a high Cricket background and distinguished cricket personalities,” PCB said in a statement.
“The jury which will be responsible to shortlist the candidate for a particular award did not limit itself to just performances, several other factors have been taken in mind such as impact, value, opponent, contributions, etc.,” it added.
PCB Awards 2020:
Pakistan’s T20 star Mohammad Hafeez, skipper Babar Azam and pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi have been nominated in the three categories each in PCB awards 2020. Haris Rauf, Shan Masood, Mohammad Rizwan, and Naseem Shah have been considered for two categories each by the jury members.
Mohammad Hafeez has been shortlisted for White Ball Cricketer of the year, Individual performance of the year, and Most Valuable Player of the year. Pakistani skipper Babar Azam and pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi have been nominated for Most Valuable Cricketer of the year, White ball cricketer of the year, and test cricketer of the year.
Haris Rauf is listed for Men’s Emerging cricketer of the year as well as White ball cricketer of the year awards while Naseem Shah is competing for Men’s Emerging cricketer of the year and Individual performance of the year.
Mohammad Rizwan has been on the list of Test Cricketer of the Year and Most Valuable Cricketer of the year awards. Shan Masood competes in Test Cricketer and Individual Performance of the year awards.
PCB also included the award for Domestic Cricketer of the year. The nominees of the Domestic Cricketer awards are Hasan Ali, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, and Zahid Mahmood.
Two awards for the Women’s category have also listed in the awards list by PCB despite little cricket. Two awards include Women’s emerging cricketer of the year and Women’s Cricketer of the year.
