The 53 members squad of the Pakistan Squad tested negative in the fifth round of the Covid-19 test conducted by the New Zealand Health Team. After the fresh round of rapid antigen test, touring Pakistan will be allowed to train, leaving the managed isolation on Tuesday.

However, the training and leaving the isolation will be subjected to New Zealand’s Health Ministry’s clearance, said New Zealand Cricket on Monday.

Five squad members of the visitor’s side tested positive after coming to New Zealand while two more people tested positive afterward. Pakistan team was denied to train while in the isolation period due to ranging Covid spread.

A total of eight members from Pakistan were affected by the novel coronavirus during the time.

This is to advise the Pakistan squad’s fifth and final day 12, Covid-19 tests have all been returned as negative,NZC said in a statement.

As an outcome, and pending Health Ministry approval, they (Pakistan squad) will leave the managed isolation on Tuesday and continue their training. The squad will fly to Queenstown, where they will train for the upcoming series against Kiwis.

Pakistan was scheduled to play 3 T20Is with the home team starting December 18 followed by 2 Test games starting December 26.

The members who were tested positive on Day 6 of the arrival to New Zealand will have to keep themselves in the managed isolation. They will be allowed to train after they get a green signal from the health ministry.”

Also, the peoples from touring squad who were taken into quarantine in Auckland, New Zealand after coming from Dubai will be allowed to leave the isolation and train for the series along with other members.”

However, the head coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team has expressed his resentment, he said not being able to train while in isolation will affect the team’s performance.
