Belgium professional Midfielder Orel Mangala gets a new offer from the Serie A giants. Napoli had been looking for a defensive midfielder, and Mangala has been their key target. With the time ticking for the transfer window to close the Serie A giants have put forward a final offer for Mangala to join the side on a six-month loan with the obligation to buy.
The new offer from the Partenopei offers the Belgium international a total of €30 to €35 million including the loan fee. There will be an option to buy which will be triggered by the number of times Mangala plays for Napoli. If the Belgian plays for at least 45 minutes of 50% matches in the second part of the season, Napoli will be obliged to buy Mangala.
But it’s reported that the Premier League side needs to be more impressed with the deal and expects more.
Orel Mangala is keen to play for the Serie League club
Orel Mangala is keen to switch his club which he joined back in 2022 for an undisclosed fee. He featured in 50 matches for the English club scoring twice. In the 2023-24 season, Mangala has scored one goal in 1529 minutes of action across 19 matches for Nottingham Forest. The Belgium midfielder has been an important member of the English squad this season starting 18 Premier League matches.
The premier league sides want to hold onto the midfielder or want a better deal to allow the transfer. Though they were recently charged for breaching the League’s profit and sustainability rules, they might be looking to sell players to balance the charges.
The Serie A giants would have to increase the deal to make Nottingham Forest release the Belgian in this transfer window.
Mangala has been known well for his defensive skills in the midfield. He was called into the national squad in 2022 in a friendly draw against Republic of Ireland. He has made 12 international appearances out of which 10 in 2023 itself. Though he is yet to score his first international goal he made three assists in the UEFA Euro qualifiers.
