Shubman Gill arguably is one of the best young batters going in the world of cricket. Even in a short span of time, he has become the backbone of the Indian cricket team. The batter has oozed his class in every format of the game and him being touted as Prince speaks a lot of about his calibre.

It’s fair to say that Shubman Gill is the face of the next generation and with the kind of impact, he has had in a short span of time, he can break any record. It won’t be a surprise if he breaks Brain Lara’s record of 400 runs because he has the capacity to play big innings.

Shubman Gill has been named in the Indian squad for the upcoming South Africa tour. The batter will be playing T20I and Tests and has been rested from the ODIs. The T20I series will be an opportunity for him to seal his spot in the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

But one of the biggest challenges for him will be the Test series against South Africa. India hasn’t won a series ever there and if they have to achieve the feat this time around, Shubman Gill needs to fire. He will be batting at No.3 in the series and his role becomes even more important.
