New Zealand defeated West Indies in the second test with a dominating performance at Wellington. With this, New Zealand surpassed India and Pakistan in the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 Standings and is now at third spot with a PCT of 66.67%. As of now, New Zealand is leading the three-match test series against West Indies by 1-0.

The First test match was a draw, West Indies showed exceptional cricket against New Zealand in the fourth inning. Justin Greaves played an exceptional knock of 202 runs and saved his team from collapse, and later saved the match. Both teams played fantastic cricket in the first test match, but New Zealand dominated in their second WTC test match.

New Zealand has an excellent opportunity to get into the top 2 of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 Standings. But, they need to win the third test match against West Indies, which is scheduled to be played between December 18-22 at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
