The teams have figured out which players they want and for whom they will break the bank. Over the years, teams have used the same strategy and broke the bank for many players. Maxi, Yuvi, Pollard, and many such other players have become million-dollar men in this heist. Here is a look at the top 5 most expensive players at the IPL Auction:

16.25 Crore Indian Rupees: Chris Morris. IPL Auction 2021:

Chris Morris, the South African veteran all-rounder happens to be the most expensive player ever bought at the IPL Auction. Virat Kohli is the most expensive after being retained at 17 Crore Indian Rupees, but in terms of buying, it is Chris Morris. Rajasthan Royals spent this whopping amount on the all-rounder. Chris performed decently well in the tournament. Mumbai started this bidding war, which was further taken ahead by RCB and Rajasthan.

16 Crore Indian Rupees: Yuvraj Singh. IPL Auction 2015 is One of the Most Expensive Players:

Yuvraj Singh, the left-handed stalwart is one-of-a-kind. Yuvi has earned a lot of money in the IPL Auction. He was in the most expensive players for two times in a row. Yuvraj bagged a contract of 16 Crore Indian Rupees in the IPL Auction 2015. Before that Yuvraj was playing for RCB. He scored two fifties throughout the tournament and wasn’t able to satisfy the price tag. Yuvraj, back then, was a favorite among the franchises due to the style and class that he had.

15.5 Crore Indian Rupees: Pat Cummins. IPL Auction 2020:

Pat Cummins became the third most expensive player in the IPL Auction 2020 when KKR bought him for 15.5 Cr. Cummins was coming from a good phase in his red-ball career. Cummins also gives a good and dependable batting option at number 7 and hence he earned more. Gautam Gambhir severely criticized this decision of KKR to break the bank for one player only.

15 Crore Indian Rupees: Kyle Jamieson. IPL Auction 2021 is One of the Most Expensive Players:

Kyle Jamieson, the 6-feet+ monster bagged a big contract in the IPL 2021 Auction. The Auction saw several franchises break the bank. This auction had a trend of high prices for above-average players as the demand was more and supply was less. Jamieson had impressed everyone with his white-ball skills and red-ball skills in the recently concluded India series. He had made a mark in the eyes of the RCB scouts. RCB went after him and begged him for the jaw-dropping amount.

14.5 Crore Indian Rupees. Ben Stokes. IPL Auction 2017:

Ben Stokes became the most expensive player in the 2017 IPL Auction after Rising Pune Super Giants bought him for 14.5 Crore Indian Rupees. Ben Stokes scored a 100 for the Super Giants in that season. He also bowled very well. He is one player who was able to justify the price tag associated.
